Scope of the meeting

Maximum entropy production (MEP) is an organizational principle common to non-equilibrium systems in physics and biology. This meeting will present current applications of MEP in physics, biophysics and terrestrial ecology, and will discuss future prospects for MEP research.

The town of Split developed round the palace built in AD305 by Roman Emperor Diocletian. Even today the greater part of the palace is well preserved - on which this artist's reconstruction is based. Diocletian's palace and the historical complex of Split that surrounds it are registered by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site.
