The Agreement among participating institutions (Founding Contract) has been signed (see the link). All other legal documents about this PhD programme will be based on this Agreement.

 

Qualification awarded in recognition of completion of this PhD study has been recently described in the Croatian depository of legal acts (official gazette) Narodne Novine so to be in full accord with our Founding Contract. Admission Requirements and Application Procedure

The application procedure consists in sending required documents to the following address:

Required documents are:


1) Application document (available in .DOC or .PDF format)
 

2) Personal data, candidate CV, phone number, e-mail and home address


3) Nationality proof (Domovnica copy for Croatian citizens = “Ovjereni preslik Domovnice” )


4) Short text describing reasons why candidate desires to enroll into this PhD programme. A candidate must describe his/her reasons for choosing this doctoral study (why biophysics, candidate scientific interests, future plans) in a document not longer than two printed pages.


5) The official transcription of candidate grades and the copy of M.Sc. and/or B.Sc. diploma must be also enclosed (in the case of the B.Sc. diploma it is expected that it is for the four to six year study period ending with a degree from physics, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology, informatics, computer science, mathematics, medicine and related fields). As a rule, for a grade system from one to five, average grade must be at least 4.0.


6) Two recommendation letters from professors or distinguished scientists employed at the institution where candidate studied or worked.


7) Certificate about English language knowledge (authenticated grades transcription or official language proficiency evaluation document).


8) List of prizes or awards obtained (if any) and list of published scientific works, conference abstracts and posters together with enclosed full-text copies (if any).


The evaluation procedure includes analysis of above mentioned documents and interview with all candidates by the Evaluation Committee. Expressed preference and commitment for interdisciplinary research required in biophysics will be an important criterion for the final admission decision.

For the academic year 2011/2012 the application period is from July 1st 2011 to October 15th 2011, while evaluation, interview and selection of best candidates will be done from October 17th to November 12th 2011.
Admissions will be from November 14th to November 30th 2011.
